Batik Day in Indonesia


UNESCO finally put batik in Indonesia Representative List of Cultural man Heritage non-Objects on 30 September 2009 yesterday. Batik became one of 76 arts and traditions from 27 countries selected. China dominates as much as 21 recognized cultural heritage, handicrafts mostly inherited from mother to child through many generations. Recognized from this batik is the process that uses canting and wax, which is also inherited a culture that were hereditary, in various places in Indonesia. 

On October 2, 2009, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono called on the Indonesian people to wear batik as a sign of pride in our cultural heritage is recognized the world. Various places and even a special offer to those who wear batik visits.
